Please read what erolst wrote. If the database is hosted by FileMaker Server, nobody can save a copy. Doesn't matter what access you have.
If you need a copy of the database, you can get one from backup. This is probably the best procedure.
Actually My Server Location is too far away from my location, So everytime I take Remote Desktop & Access Server.
But My Database file is 750 MB, If it try to copy by Remote Desktop it takes 3 hours to complete to copy the file.
And If I use Team Viewer also same, Same speed & lagging while copying like more issues!
Thats why "Save a copy as" option saves more time for me!!
I can't help you. This is just the way it works.
But 750MB shouldn't take three hours to copy. Even on a slow network. What are you pulling a copy for? Can you make do with a clone?
“Save as Copy” would run over the same connection …
Try zipping the file before retrieving it; you can usually save lots! of space.
If what you are worried about is the data, could create a script that exports all of the data. Then import the data into a clone of the file.
If I tried but the Exported FM file design layout format totally changed.
Before Export (Original Design)
After Export it as .FMP12 file (Exported Design)
I required proper design file backup within short time!
Export only exports the data. You do not end up with a copy of the file. No layouts or scripts are exported. You will need to import the data into a clone of the original file to display the data in the original Layouts. If you need an actual copy of the file, you will probably need to remote into the server, which was previously suggested.
