You are right. I haven't use the "specify output path" setting.
The Export Field Content feature does not work on any browsers (ie. Safari, Chrome) in iOS device. I tried it on Android, no luck as well.
Oops.. Thanks Malcolm and Mike, I have overlooked this.
Between, any suggestion to help user to access the container field content from browser in mobile device environment.
I have not had a need for this on mobile browsers yet so I do not have a solution. However, I have seen people send container data to dropbox using filemaker server. You might be able to do that and get a link back to provide your user. Dropbox files are supported by browser download but they will open in a new tab when you click the link.
Thanks Mike, It's very helpful. I'll take a look on this.
Between, I am checking if using CWP/XML can work. It's partially work so far but as I want to protect the container content and allowed only register user can access. This create some extra work.
Using CWP would certainly facilitate this task. You could do something
Create a table to manage downloads with fields: key, timestamp, document
Using a script triggered by a button:
Generate a key and store it, along with a date stamp and the ID of
record storing the document in the download table.
Generate a URL using the location of your CWP page and the new key.
Pass the URL to Open URL script step.
The CWP page then uses the key to locate the download record. If the key
matches, then locate the document and pass it to the browser.
Your server can run a script as often as needed to delete older records.
