FileMaker 13 Advanced and Excel on El Capitan

Question asked by TKnTexas on Oct 16, 2015

I use FileMaker Pro 13 Advanced.  I have just upgraded to El Capitan (OS10.11).  I have been using Excel with FileMaker for years.  Today I opened a spreadsheet in Excel, to clean up some headings.  I saved the file (xlsx).  I opened in FileMaker and was presented with a long list of filters for converting.  I have never encountered this before.

I was not able to open the Excel file.

I just opened the same Excel file in my Win7 computer, made the changes and saved it.  My regular FileMaker 13 was able to open.  I wanted to use my copy of Advance to import and make copies of tables that the Regular version cannot do.
