I have a number of field with dates that I have converted to numbers. For example today's date is 735630, Oct. 18, 2015. I did this as I assumed when doing a find based on dates numbers would produce more accurate searches than actual dates. I manage a database contains members of an organization and I need to know you is active based on the expiry of their membership. I used to do a find on the Expiry date field by placing >=10/18/2015 in the expiry date field. The return of that gives me 965 records why appear to be accurate. If I do the same request using the Date as a number and place >=735630 in a field called Expiry date as a number I get 1165 records which is obviously wrong. I don't know why these two finds are producing different results. Perhaps I have not formatted the number field correctly. My format just takes the Expiry date and displays it as a number and not a date. Can someone help me understand this situation.
Converting to number may not have advance in search.
10/18/2015 is 735889. How do you get 735630??
