Earlier we started a discussion about the flickering of Web Direct screens in FMS14.
We wondered whether this might be caused by wrong firewall settings.
We installed FMS14 on a dedicated 4-Core Windows2012 serer with 16GB ram, 7 of which are allocated to the database server.
This server is behind an external firewall which only allows port 80 and 443 traffic to the server.
We contacted Filemaker Helpdesk.
They suggested to turn the Windows Firewall off on dedicated servers for FMS14.
We now still see, even when no users are active, approx. 200 TCP IPv4 loopback connections on this server.
Many of the connections relate to FMS Custom Web Publishing, which we turned off during installation.
A: is it normal to have so many TCP connections on a dedicated server for FMS?
B: is it recommendable or necessary to reduce this number of TCP connections - and if so - how can we achieve that?
Yes it is normal. No need to change anything there.
