You need to convert you file in several steps:
- Convert from FileMaker 1 to FileMaker 6 (fp5 format).
- Convert from FileMaker 6 to FileMaker 7 (fm7 format).
- Convert from FileMaker 7 to FileMaker 14 (fmp12 format).
If you have your old MacBook may be you can convert it to fm7 format and then move to FileMaker 14.
I don't have my old Macbook any more (it bit the dust, which is why I replaced it). I just need some sort of software that can read the old Filemaker databases on my new MacBook. Alternatively, I can copy the databases to someone else's older Mac if they can convert the databases to a format that Filemaker 14 can read.
What software will convert it from Filemaker 1 to Filemaker 6 (fp5 format)? I can't load an older version of Filemaker on my MacBook Air.
I have FM 5.5 installed on my machine, as well as 11 and 14. I'm actually not sure if 5.5 will open a version 1 FM (it's been awhile!) but if you want, contact me back channel. If you can get me the files, I'll give it a shot.
