I have installed FM Server 14 for the first time. When I try to upload a file I keep getting errors. I'm not a network guy but my thinking is that there is a port or something that I need to do something with. I work for a very large company and maybe a security setting somewhere is the issue. I have it set up on a virtual server.
nybody got any ideas?
What are the error messages you are getting?
On the client: Make sure FMP has allowed access through the firewall.
On the server: Make sure the appropriate ports are open/available.
ServerPorts 80 and 443 must be open (or alternative ports specified during installation).
Ports 5003 and 16000 must be open. Port 2399 must be open to support ODBC and JDBC clients.
Ports 1895, 5013, 16001, 50003, and 50004 must be available.
I hate to sound like an idiot but I don't know how to do any of those things.
You noted in a previous post you work for a large company. I would seek out some assistance from your IT dept to get this done.
Further to Jeff's recommendations, what OS is your virtual server running? FM Server 14 is not compatible with El Capitan (OS X 10.11) yet, and in my testing has given similar errors when trying to upload new files.
