Build a calc field putting together the fields, something like
FirstName & " " & LastName & " | " & Address & " | " & City & ", " & Country.
Base your valuelist on that.
Have a trigger OnModify that fires a script which sets the field to be Substitute(YourField; " | "; ¶)
This is expected behavior as value lists really are a delimited LIST of VALUES. In fact I use that feature to make value lists that can be edited by the user (admin privs) to change a list.
But siplus has a viable solution in making the calc field for use as the drop-down.
Rather than the calc and trigger, I might use a "lookup" to see the calc, but auto-enter the actual field (as delimited).
Thanks for your reply. But I may have been misleading in the way I stated the problem. The content of my text field Location is (for example) "Poudrette Quarry¶Mont Saint-Hilaire¶Quebec, Canada" where by "¶" I mean "return". It is not a question of concatenating the values of several text fields, but of getting auto-fill to return the full value of the single text field.
Same principle holds.
Create another field which is Substitute(Location; ¶; " | ") and build a value list on that.
Once you set the field's value, i.e. onModify, Substitute(Location; " | "; ¶)
