someone can help me?
You can only create a Windows runtime on a Windows computer, Mac runtime only on a Mac.
I know that, on a mac works like a charm, but on a windows machine (7 and 8) don't work.
The link above stated that you did not have a windows 7 box. As the message states, you will have to reinstall FM.
i have made this several times with no success...
Nothing special to creating runtimes. I have created runtimes on Windows several times.
Remove filemaker from your computer, then reboot computer, then reinstall filemaker.
Hi folks. I am running FMP 15 and I get the error: FMI Runtime resources not found.... I have followed the hints and suggestions and uninstalled, rebooted and re-installed FMP15 but I still get the same error. My question is: Is it possible to use a 3rd party software for this. I have Advanced Installer 14 which I have not tried yet.
Do you have FileMaker Pro Advanced or just Pro 15? Advanced is required for making runtimes
About creating runtime solutions (FileMaker Pro Advanced)
Yes, FMPA14 installer can be used to install the resources, but only used with FMPA14, not 15.
Hi Beverly. I have the Advanced (15). I tried it again for the 3rd time and still get the same errors. I checked the folder and the directory is just not there. I have no idea what I am doing wrong o.O
FMPA 15 requires the .net framework 4.5 Download Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 from Official Microsoft Download Center
There are a few installers that can be used.
Free Windows Installer - MSI Installer Tool I have not used but was given on another post.
I have used Inno Setup Inno Setup
Thanks chamblee. I have ,net and all relevant software. I will try the MSI installer tool that you provided.
Just a quick question regarding the MSI installer. Do I just need the filemaker.exe and the fmp12 file or are there others that I need to include in the installer package?Regards, Dmitri
FileMaker Pro 16 Help
Distributing runtime solutions (FileMaker Pro Advanced)
Windows: Runtime solutions for Windows require that the Microsoft .NET framework is installed. Some versions of Windows might not include the required version of .NET. Therefore, your runtime installer should install the required version of .NET if it is not present.
Not only .exe, there are many .dlls (and .xmls) should be copied. It is (one of) the reason "FMI Runtime Resources" folder exists.
Thanks. I have now tried 4 times and for some weird reason that folder does not appear. I am using fmp 15 advanced and I run it in admin mode. I have googled and googled but I have no idea how to get that folder. I have manually created the folder (obviously without contents) in the hope that might help, but still not happening. Is it possible I have a "buggy" package (which I doubt, but the thought has occured)
Do you have any virus protection, and try disabling it while install?
I have disabled to AV but still nothing changes. I am going to purchase version 16 advanced. Not that I want to spend money needlessly but I need to get this project to the client
I have used the advanced installer as well as Inno setup. It does not help. I have included the filemaker.exe and the applicable fmp12 file. How do I get the dll and xml as well as all the other needed files. Is there some kind of patch that I can purchase or download etc for fmp advanced 15? If not, then I am going to have to view alternatives to fm. Been looking at SAP and Oracle but I really do not want to go there as I love FM
.dlls are in same folder where .exe installed (and more other folders I'm not aware of).
But they have difference against same name.dll in FRR folder, and if you can't create runtime, you can't distribute .exe on the license.
Here is a document for using command line to install
you can make install log with it, maybe some error or hint in there.
The installers / setup program is for installing your runtime on other computer. FMP installs the resource folder. If files are missing then you can download .net framework from Microsoft. This usually only occurs when you uninstall a different program that uses the same .net framework.
Buying a newer version of FM is not going to fix your issue either.
I suggest creating a brand new user on your computer and then install FM on this new account. I would uninstall FM from the current account before Installing on the new user account. There has to be something corrupt or something preventing the files from being installed.
