yeah, use the send mail script step, but uncheck the "no dialog" checkbox, specify "email client" in the send via dropdown, and calculate to have the table::email field in the to line. This will make the message popup in outlook, but not use SMTP, or try to auto-send it.
Perfect, thanks Mike :-)
Hi - I am trying to do the same thing as Nick. I would like to have a button that opens the email text box. But have encountered the following problems:
- "Run Dialogue" box is checked and grayed when "email client" option is selected. If SMTP option is selected I am able to uncheck Dialogue Box. So the email is sent without letting me input text.
- When I run a test using the "email client" option I get an "error -1 code" ( I am running windows 10 and have made sure that my email program (gmail) is selected in the handler box so it is the default.
Is there any way I can get this to work? Would appreciate any thoughts!
You need MAPI setting for "email client".
How about using "Open URL" with mailto:address ?
