I didn't mean to be rude, I figured that my original discussion point was sorted and that this was a different issue and strike a different cord with people reading the titles.
The container field works fine, as I said I can drag a pdf into it and it works, and the pdf is fine as it opens up when created, (i'll turn that off when fixed. and with script debugger I can follow the steps and it does everything right apart from the "Insert pdf" step which seems to do nothing at all.

You need complete path when you insert the pdf. On Windows add "imagewin:" to beginning of path, so set the variable $path again with "imagewin:"&$path just before the insert pdf script step.
I have a mac so what would i add?
what is the difference between get(temporaryPath) and get(desktopPath)?
Thank you so much this is sorted now i used my loaf and replace win with mac, would love to know the difference between the two get statements though I change to get(DesktopPath) as well. so all good.
I used Get(DesktopPath) so I could make sure the PDF was being created. I forgot to change back to temporary path.
