First item under Categories is misspelled, as well as other places it appears, e.g., the checkboxes when you create a post:
Please fix this typo. I beg you.
You didn't write how to fix it
Apparently there is no way to fix it.
I think someone (mark_baum ?) can fix it inserting "l" between "u" and "a", isn't it?
Hi Tom, my apologies for not responding to your feedback. This is not simple to address, and frankly hasn't been as high a priority as other things I've been dealing with in the community for the past few months.
The fix isn't as straightforward as changing the spelling of the category used in the Ideas area. Imagine that you have a value list containing the misspelling "calcuation", and that this has been applied as a checkbox to an unknown number of fields from various tables in your FileMaker app. Probably you would change the value list, use the DDR to determine which fields in which tables might have had the misspelled value applied, and finally for each field you identified, you'd find the records with the problem value and perform a calculated replace to substitute the correct spelling for the incorrect one.
Now imagine that you are working with an instance of Jive, where you don't have a DDR, and your main tool for identifying and fixing the data is a REST API. It's do-able, but just challenging enough that I haven't budgeted the time for it, and don't expect to do so soon. There are just too many other things competing for my time -- and likely will be until we hire a second Technical Product Marketing Manager to help share the workload. If you know of any likely candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area, please encourage them to apply!
But I do appreciate your calling my attention to the issue, and regret not acknowledging this sooner.
All the best --
I just noticed, it's fixed!
Yep, looks like Jive 8 updates the underlying data when you change the value list, so I was able to make the change. (Or at least so it appears)
this is great! Thanks!
