    Help starting FM Server 11 on OSX El Capitan

    trobertson

      Hi folks,

      I'm trying to run FM Server 11 on El Capitan (latest OSX)

      I started with a fresh installation and when I proceeded to configure it (i.e. after installation) it failed with:

      "The FileMaker Server Admin Console Start page is not available."

      It is correct that the admin server is not running and the terminal trace below shows that (I think):

      $ pwd

      /Library/FileMaker Server/Database Server/bin

      $ whoami

      root

      $ pwd

      /Library/FileMaker Server/Database Server/bin

      $ echo $JAVA_HOME

      /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.7.0_67.jdk/Contents/Home

      $ echo $JRE_HOME

      /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.7.0_67.jdk/Contents/Home

      $ ./fmsadmin start adminserver

      $ ps -ef|grep fms

        502 11387     1   0  4:33PM ??         0:01.45 /Library/FileMaker Server/Database Server/bin/fmserver_helperd -d

        502 11418     1   0  4:33PM ??         0:01.97 /Library/FileMaker Server/Database Server/bin/fmserverd -d

          0 14854 14160   0  5:40PM ttys000    0:00.00 grep fms

      I notice in the /Library/FileMaker Server/Database Server/Logs/stderr log the following which was at the installation time:

      omniORB: Warning: the local loop back interface (127.0.0.1)

      is the only address available for this server.

      Does anyone have any suggestions?  I know this is an old version, but it is the only one I have a license for and I am trying to export the contents using a Node.js client application, for which I have to run the XML interface.

      (For information, the FileMaker Pro 11 runs just fine on this machine but as far as I can tell it can only do the web interface and not the XML one that the Node.js client needs - if that is inaccurate, I'd appreciate knowing how to run that)
