Thanks a lot.
Is there more info available about what has been changed/fixed, more than what the "detail" uncovers ?
As a Mac user of FM Pro Advanced, a jump from 14.0.3 to 14.0.4 fixing only
"OS X El Capitan: Addressed an issue where scripts using the Insert From URL script step incorrectly returned an SSL certificate error."
looks quite skinny to me.
OK, so I want to test the update on my FMS 14 development machine. I'm reading the Software Update Notes at: http://help.filemaker.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/15364/
Under the "Software details" section about "Supported Operating Systems", there is a note that says:
- FileMaker Server 14.0.4 includes support for OS X El Capitan version 10.11. To upgrade your operating system, FileMaker recommends that you uninstall FileMaker Server, then upgrade your operating system. Then use the FileMaker Server 14.0.4 installer instead of the updater software.
OK, but all the FileMaker downloads gives me is the updater, not the full installer. Many of us received our original FMS 14 installer as the very first release (v1). So what is the process if getting a hold of the full v4 installer?
This update has disabled the Web Server on my server.
This machine (OS X 10.9.5) has had versions of FMS since 13.0.1, and updates have all been smooth. I followed the update instructions.
I can start the Database Server and the WPE, but the Web Server stays greyed out. (see attached)
I cannot access the web server from another machine (via a browser) at all — neither the Admin Console nor the root web directory.
I can open the Admin Console on the server itself, but the WebDirect test page fails (see attached)
I have restarted the server twice.
I have the same question. I am unaware of anywhere I can download the full 14.0.4 Server installer.
When I need full installers after updates, I just re-use my download link from my purchase of FileMaker. If the links are expired, I politely ask FMI to re-enable them.
Thanks Tim. It's rare the site is still available when I actually need a full installer. I agree it's a phone call away, but it's another call in a busy day.
Took your advise and low and behold the page was still active. Probably from last update I needed. Thanks for the suggestion!
one of the latest changes is, that the link to Your original download always contains the latest software. That link will also live longer, doesn't expire that soon
if You don't have that link anymore, You can call the support
I find it usually takes a week or so before updated full installers are viable, so I would be surprised if v4 full installers where out today.
Another surprise. It's there for me
Thanks Markus - good to know and worked for me
My VLA "Electronic Software Downloads Page" link is still serving up Server 126.96.36.199.
I assume that I'm going to have to make a phone call at this point. It would have been nice if these installers were available or at least if the best way to obtain them were made clear in the update notes.
TSGal claims that this got fixed with 14.0.4?!
