We just upgraded one of our clients from FileMaker 12 to FileMaker 14 a few weeks ago. Since the upgrade, several users have been experiencing repeated crashes, where under FileMaker 12, they were not having any issues.
Most users have a dashboard as their home screen which contains multiple portals that can be sorted, filtered, etc. The portals are grouped on different tabs within a tab object, and some of the tabs may contain tab objects of their own.
It appears that FileMaker 14 cannot handle the complexity of these layouts. Our typical work around for this has been to create a blank tab on the main tab object and directing users to that when the layout opens using a script. After the layout has been open for 1 second, we then redirect them to the main tab that was previously opening first under FileMaker 12.
While this works, it is clearly not the optimal solution for this issue.
Is anyone else having this problem? If so, what approaches have been taken to address it?
We can provide crash reports if those would be helpful. FYI, users are on Mac OS X Yosemite or El Capitan, and all are on FileMaker 14.0.3 or 14.0.4.
