Is there a way in the email script step (send mail) to automatically add a link to a URL in the resulting email?
Not that I'm aware of however I use the mailit plugin and it allows you to have live links in your emails if you send them as rich text
Send Mail can encode only plain text email. You can embed HTML into the mail if you want, but it's a shell game as to whether or not the mail client will interpret it correctly. (Many don't.) You can fix that either by using a plugin, as Charlie has suggested, by using a service such as Mandrill, or installing a server-side application such as AutoSender from myFMButler.
Thanks very much for the mailit plug-in lead. I'm testing it now. I was unaware of this plug in and I know it will work for one of my other clients.
I have been using this for several years and it has worked flawless for me. I did set it up on the server side and all emails are sent using the PSOS function that sends the email using the mailit plugin.
