FM Server 14 hosting two DBs one with the interface and one with the data and 4 iPads. The tables used to native FM, but I moved all of them to SQL Server and created ODBC instances in the data file. The database runs faster in all but one respect. If an iPad loses its connection to the server it now takes about 30 seconds to re-establish the connection when it used to only take 1-2 seconds.
I am running the same database at two businesses and they are both experiencing the same issue after the switch to SQL. It's almost like the client is waiting for the server to refresh every SQL table before reconnecting.
Anybody have any ideas or experienced the same when using external data via ODBC?
