Since Apple released Yosemite it has not been possible to attach files when sending email messages through FM 13. Has this issue been fixed in FM 14? If so, I'll buy it; if not, there's not point.
It sounds like the simple answer to this is no. The problem still exists in FileMaker 14 and also with subsequent updates to FM 14.0.4
Thank you for your post.
I'm not familiar with an issue sending mail with attachments in FileMaker Pro 13. Could you provide information on your Send Mail script and the Mail Client you are using, so that I may provide further assistance?
I look forward to your response.
Thank you for responding.
There have been several posts in Discussions about the problem. Since Apple released Yosemite (OS 10.11) FileMaker doesn’t send attachments when using the mail function. The email is sent, but not the attachment. Earlier I read an announcement on the FM website that the problem would be fixed in FM 14. My immediate question is whether that has happened. I couldn’t find anything about it when I checked recently.
I haven’t been using a script to send mail. I use the command File/Send/Mail, and then click the checkbox when an attachment is to be sent.
there were some entries about email without attachements in the release notes for 14.03 (current version is 14.04)
just to mention that: There is a really good starting point for help, updates, requirements:

Thank you for your response.
It does seem we have had several updates since the FileMaker 13 platform that resolve compatibility issues. I would recommend doing a FileMaker Trial Request and test the FileMaker Pro 14 software for yourself.
I hope this information is of use.
I did download FM 14.0.4 in hopes that it would work. I'm still experimenting, but preliminarily it seems that attachments are sent if I start with a new Solution, but not if I use one originated in FM13. That's not a huge help to me, as it will take significant time if I have to export/import—not to mention the learning curve, as the Solution that I use most often is now changed in a major way in the new version.
Today an Apple source expressed the expectation that there will be a fix in the next update of Yosemite, based on the latest beta release. We'll see. In the meantime, this is a major issue for me.
OS X 10.11 is actually El Capitan, successor to Yosemite.
I have a fix using AppleScript that incorporates a slight delay to allow the attachment time to be included on this discussion: Can't send an email attachment
Should be quite simple to add to a script in an existing solution.
Best of luck, Anatole
