I am using FileMaker Pro 14 to develop a layout that contains a portal.
After entering Parent data, I move into Portal and enter data in first field of first row. First field has a drop down option to select data from a child table, through a dynamic value list. I am surprised to see that some corresponding information is not retrieved from child table to populate some fields in the porta. But information is saved in the database table (I can confirm it in table view of the layout).
It seems that FileMaker is not able to refresh the portal even by using Refresh window or Refresh Portal script command.
But if I click outside portal, it refreshes and displays the information retrieved from child table.
Is there solution for this issue?
Do you have a demo file. It sounds like your first field in the portal row is remaining active because it's a dropdown. This is expected behavior as filemaker will not commit the record until you click or tab away from the field. You can get around this by adding a script trigger for OnObjectModify to the first field in the portal.
