We are in the final stages of development of a StockTake solution for our warehouse and have been testing with the Zebra/Motorola (now Symbol) CS4070 bluetooth scanners. I've been testing for a few weeks with this scanner and have seen no problems. Battery life far exceeds that of the iOS devices we are paired with. 2d and 1d codes all read very quickly and the device is very easy to aim. Well priced compared to others. Operates either in HID mode to work very easily with FM and you can pop up the on screen keyboard on your device by pressing a button on the scanner. Very easy to work with and develop around. I cannot attest to the long term reliability of these yet but I am confident being a Motorola/Zebra product that they will be up to the task.
Elements I looked at when deciding on a scanner to purchase was 2D scanning, battery life, iOS compatibility, and speed/accuracy of scan.
I hope that helps.
Thanks for the great sharing! Really helped me in opening up new thought paths on better deciding which scanner to purchase.
Hey Donovan, alright thank you. Will definitely check it out.
