I have been running and networking databases via a wireless router using version 12 but since May we have faced problems sharing databases over a local network. A file opened on a host computer can not be seen using FileMaker on 2 other computers or FileMaker Go.
I have checked to make sure that...
All devices are connected to and communicating with the router.
The file is running on the host.
All computers have sharing turned on.
Antivirus allows FileMaker to communicate through computer firewall
No other FileMaker files are running on the host or other computers
I have also uninstalled and reinstalled FileMaker and FileMaker Go on all devices. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled bonjour.
I am able to see the host computer but when I attempt to view shared files it comes back with no files shared. I checked to make sure the option to hide the file from the shared files list was not checked. When I attempt to access the file by providing the file name it says the file is not avaiable.
I am running FileMaker on Windows 7 and Windows 10. I running FileMaker Go 13.
Someone has suggested that there could be problem with Bonjour's compatibility with newer wireless router software.
Is there something I have missed in this process?
