    FMPA14 Setup error

I tried to upgrade FMPA14 with V2, V3 and V4 but consistently get a "SETUP ERROR": "Setup cannot find the necessary files". I don't know what files are "necessary". I uninstalled FMPA14 and tried to reinstall it; same answer. Running Windows x64 environment. Now I don't even have FMPA14 to use anymore.

          Thank you for your post.

I would start with the following:

-Check that the Application is uninstalled under Control Panel > Programs and Features...

-Verify you are using a local Administrator Account for the computer

-Download a fresh installer for FileMaker Pro 14.0.4 (Advanced) from your Software Download Page with Internet Explorer or Google Chrome.

-Place the installer on the root of your C:\

          -Run the installer

I hope this information is of use. Please let me know if you have further information.

Thanks for your prompt response. The problem involved Windows permissions. Launching the FMPA installer from the root directory allowed the installation to complete. Many thanks...

You would also get this error if you were trying to install the 64-bit version of FMP(A) on a 32-bit system.
