Could you provide some more information. In your example, what were you searching for, what search request did you use, and what result were you expecting?
IOW, if you searched 'fee' do you only want to find a match where there is just a word 'fee'?
Enter find mode.
Set Field ( the_field ; "==My name is Feeny"
Execute the find
Or enter find mode
Set Field ( the_field ; "Fee" )
I want to limit the results to records in which the exact search string is contained in the Description field.
Back to my original example, if the field contained, "My name is Feeny." If I search on "fee" I don't want to find this record.
If the Description field contained, "The fee for this service is $100." I do want to find it if I search on "fee"
Use the function Exact () for literal string comparison.
Search _fee_ where "_" means space
Leading and trailing spaces will be ignored in your search.
If you put " fee " in quotes (as shown), you'll find only the word fee, but not if there's punctuation up against it, as in "Pay our fee."
Hi Chris! You're right in your reply to me and to the initial question. 2-0 for you!
