Create a table with 1000 records (that's almost 20 years) in which each record is a week. Call it WeekTable. It will have a primary key, numeric, from 1 to 1000, and 2 calc fields, result format: date, one being the starting date and the other the end date of that peculiar week. Create a LineItems table having a foreign key from WeekTable, one from Clients and one from Menus.
try working with this http://www.modularfilemaker.org/module/mcalendar/
Have the calendar and an drop down of food options. Each click on the calendar will populate a global field 'selection':
then when ready, the user clicks submit which triggers a script to build your records (use transaction engine)
remember to always try to pickup your poster's filemakerity from his lines and answer with words he will presumably understand. Otherwise it's only a show-off.
rivet and siplus, thanks for your comments!
I would prefer not to work with a date picker, because the user shall not be made to think about, which dates the first or second week runs, but simply select for week 1, 2, 3, 4, and sometimes 5, the food variety.
This custom function has helped me a lot:
It eliminates weekends for any month which in turn allows me to separate weeks from each other.
I basically feed all dates into an extra table, that just holds days and week and work with that.
