thank You very much Mark!
would be fine to add the date of the release in the download list - a 14.04 that is newer than a 14.04a is quite a bit misleading/annoying, especially when the version numbers Win/OSX are (almost) different or (almost) the same...
FMS 14v4a mainly contains fixes to update versions of OpenSSL and Java. We recommend people get this to enhance security but, as noted in release notes, "if you enable the Use SSL for database connections setting in Admin Console, clients using FileMaker Pro 12 or FileMaker Go 12 will no longer be able to connect to solutions hosted by your server".
As a result we did not put these fixes in the 14.0.4 version and gave a choice to our customers based on what their configs are.
14.0.4 and 14.0.4a work together as they contain a different set of fixes. However to install 14.0.4a you must first be on 14.0.4. 14.0.4a by itself does NOT contain the fixes from 14.0.4. And 14.0.4 does NOT contain the fixes from 14.0.4a.
Hope that clarifies things.
not really (-:
guess, what a 'John Doe' user thinks, when there is a 14.04 for one platform, a 14.04a for the other platform - and 14.04 is current, not 14.04a... depending on the platform, 14.04 is top onthe list - or 14.04a.
we definitely need a date, every other way is misleading/annoying

thank You very much - anyway!
