One way to achieve this is to set the stop date to the date selected in the start date. When the user clicks on the stop date calendar drop down the date will be the same as the one they selected previously.
I used an OnObjectSave script trigger on the start date field to run a script that used Set Field targeting Stop Date with the value of Start Date.
I'm sure there are many other ways to do this depending on your particular application.
I would use an auto-enter calculation for this.
Case ( not IsEmpty ( calendarStartDate ) ; calendarStartDate )
This will automatically insert the calendarStartDate into the calendarEndDate field whenever the start date changes.
New to Program and I am still learning.
Is this something to be inserted in the "calender EndDate" calculation?
In my example it is called something else.
The calculation does not recognize "IsEmpty" as you suggested. Is this a field that I have to define and set to "null" ?
Could you please elaborate. . . . .
IsEmpty is a function from version 6.0 of FileMaker, click on the link to see the documentation.
Based on Mike's example I have created two Date fields and added an auto-enter calculation to the endDate field, see below.
Hopefully that helps.
Thanks Alan, worked fine.
