Thank you for your post.
Our Development and Testing departments are aware of this issue, as I also see a couple of other entries submitted by you on this issue. Currently, the shared guides are global storage, and under the current design, global items are unstored (like global variables), and only exist in the current session for the current client.
I have attached your comments to the original report so there can be additional discussion. If I receive any new information, I will let you know.
As this issue is over a year old, at least in this thread, and we have FileMaker 16 on the horizon, I'm writing to urge that this issue not be overlooked again, otherwise, we will have to wait for FileMaker 17 and then run the risk that it will not be treated as a bug because it has been present for so many versions.
If best practices tells us to do development work on a hosted file, then the layout guides should not be globally stored. I suppose that different users may want to each have their own sets of guides, but if that can't be managed the same way as Saved Finds, then at least the layout guides should not disappear and all users who work in layout mode can argue with one another about where they are positioned. Anybody has the option to use the View option to not look at them, but they should not vanish when the file is closed.
I have attached your comments to the original report and asked for a review. If more information becomes available, I will let you know.
Thanks for anything you can do to have this become available sooner rather than later.
