Do you have a backup you can roll back to? That seems like the easiest thing to do for me. If the data is good then you can probably resurrect the data entered after the last backup.
No, it got carried over to the back-up. Switching to a theme that is not part of the "rectangle" group fixed it. All of the "rectangle" group of themes carried the corruption. I have not tried it for a new layout or in a new file.
Thanks. That fixed it. I started showing in ALL of my FMP12 files.
Thank you for your post.
There have been additional reports of this issue:
We now have the issue documented in Knowledge Base Article #15419.
Additionally, I added this to the original report for review.
To further update this thread. This morning when I opened the five files I use during the day, two that are shared as a coworker may need it, I saw the gobbledygook back. The first thing I checked, My font cache, it was not yet rebuilt.
If I had FMPAdvance v13 I would go back to that. My coworker's FileMaker Pro ver13 does not see any thing, it is a local issue.
I am going to continue to update with the hopes it helps to lead to a resolution.
A couple times I followed the suggestion to go to C:\Windows\System32 and delete the fntcache.dat , that was a temp solution that worked.
I just checked and there is no fntcache.dat file... but lots of that screwy font.
I have checked that all updates to Adobe are made. It does not matter what the original font is, it gets replaced.
I am considering going back to the regular version of FMPro 13, as much as I will miss the advanced features.
The problem showed by every new layout defaulted to the funky font of Z@R4D62.tmp.
I am going to check to see if I can downgrade to FMP Advance 13. From my personal use I have the install for it, I just need to get a key.
