# Account discount rate problem

On each Account I have a discount rate which I am using on as a lookup on my quote details table.

Each line item I have on the quote has the discount percentage taken off but for some reason its taking 0.25 off the price per item when I want it to take 25% of the total off the item.

Here is my calculation for Total

PriceLookup * Amount - Discount

PriceLookup is the price of the product and Amount is the quantity wanted.

What would I need to change in the calculation so that it takes off the discount % off the item.

ummm, that minus sign means you're just subtracting the discount, not factoring any value.

Maybe something like this would be better?

(PriceLookup * Amount) - (PriceLookup * Amount * Discount)

for instance, 5 items at \$1 discounted 25%:

(1 * 5) - (1 * 5 * .25)

(5) - (1.25)

=3.75

Thanks! That's done the trick.
