How to Support Single Sign-On (SSO), EzProxy, etc. in WebDirect

Question asked by Mac89 on Dec 20, 2015

I've got a subscription database solution with the user database managed internally in FMS14. This works great for individual users but I've got corporate users who want everyone coming from their networks to automatically log in without having to enter a username/password.

Under IWP this was easily solved with tools like EzProxy which are broadly used among corporate enterprise users. I just created a user account and gave it to the client who then entered it into their local EzProxy installation and they were ready to go. Unfortunately, WebDirect broke the compatibility with EZProxy and I haven't been able to find another workaround.

I've been thinking about utilizing the external authentication capabilities of FM but not sure if that is the best way to go with my use case.

Greatly appreciate any help or insights.
