Anyone have experience in migrating Access (97) databases to FMP? Is there a tool out there or largely a manual process?
This might fit the bill but i think its more a service than a product.
Any development shop can help with the task.
Here's another that's an actual product.
Convert Access to FileMaker Pro
Google is your friend.
FYI i have no affiliation with either of these offerings and can not vouch for the quality or effectiveness.
Because FMP is a fundamentally different beast than Access i would do the job manually and take the time to optimize the business process(es) while developing the new solution.
Getting the data and tables out is as simple as exporting a table of data out of access into xls or csv format and importing in into FMP as a new table.
Filemaker: Converting Access Databases to Filemaker Pro
There is alot of good knowledge and experience on this Forum from people who have done the same conversion.
Welcome to FMP.
Your not in Kansas anymore
Access > Filemaker, short version.
1) Create a new solution in Filemaker
2) Export data from access
3) Import data in 1)
I'm not going to use this option - the issue is more around stored procs, forms, functions, macros etc.
