Hello I was wondering if I can have two tables in one form. Like a the main form with a table and a subform with a child table in datasheet view like in Access is that possible in filemaker??
I could be wrong, but I believe what you're talking about is called a "portal" in FM.
If your two tables have parent key::foreign key connection you can use the Filemaker "Portal" object to show data from the child table on the same form as your parent data.
ok will users be able to add records to it??
What I think is you want 2 additional tables linked with a parent table. In one view you want parent -> data of the first table, in other a table view for the other parent -> data for the other table. Is that it?
In the relationship setup you would enable "Allow creation of records in this table via this relationship".
ok so I have the fields in the portal but when I enter data in it still shows the field name not the data I entered. And Its no the label the label is above the field, the image below is what I'm trying to get the form to look like. the are where it says rework is the child table
I think I just figured out what I did wrong
