sounds like something is blocking port 5003 on the way out from that site?
Do the databases show up in Open Remote? If not, it may be an issue with the Bonjour installation on the subject machines.

They have been able to access databases remotely for the last year (up to yesterday) ok. I'll double check the ports but do they ever close themselves?
I've got them to 'show only these files' and they have entered the file names correctly.
I've often found over the years that I've had to bumpstart a new ip address using the above. The files then show up if I choose 'show all available'

There's always something that has changed, especially when it used to work and now it does not. So finding out what has changed is the trick of course.
Could be in inadvertent config change by an admin, could be part of an OS update, a firmware patch on the router/firewall, subtle change to a group policy somewhere... but something did change.
Solved. I hadn't realised that ports have to be opened pointing at specific servers.
