Internet Explorer and FM WebDirect

I have a solution which is deployed on FM Server 14, and accessed primarily via WebDirect. It seems to work well on Safari and Chrome, but with Internet Explorer 11 it has a lot of extremely long (about a minute) pauses while the screen goes blank and the wheel spins. Sometimes it comes back, and sometimes it hangs up from there. I've tested this from two different sites with completely different internet connections; it definitely seems to be the browser, and not the connection.


Has anyone seen this? Any advice? Any work arounds?
