Edit menu -> last option: Disable.
(Stupid change made by people that don't use the product they manufacture, IMHO)
Note the Shortcut next to the menu item. You can use Command/ (mac) or Cntrl/ (win) instead of the menu item.
"Script Workspace window keyboard shortcuts":
NOTE: the "disable" (when clicked again) will also "enable" the selected script step(s). The menu item even changes to "Enable" for any line already disabled!
what does cmdshift7 do?
Not sure if this is so, but I've encountered some issues with Perform on server where it is not compatible with a script step and will stop running a script due to that error.
So a question is whether or not commenting out a line using Advanced will create such an error in a script you want to Perform on Server and also whether or not set error capture on will eliminate this problem.
Hmm, during those 30 years you never learned to use Command + N, S, T, or Command + SHIFT L, S, D and so on?
Hot Key overload is a problem and using a menu item for one rarely used is an easier method...
One other interesting feature of Windows 10 and 14, perhaps earlier versions also, is that the Unlock hot keys fail (for the time being) on some laptops (mine) with a touchpad and instead open the dialog to save a log for the Synaptics Touch Pad. I have to use the menu item.
problem is, that this shortcut isn't a 'shortcut' with non-US-keyboards - I personally don't use that, I go via the menues.
btw. That's one of the things, people around here are complaining a lot when it comes to FM14. Solution would be simple: Just bring back the button...
well... it's not an overload of shortcuts - these shortcuts are no longer shortcuts, one can't press them with one hand
I use same keyboard as you do:
cmd shft 7
does the job as expected.
the [fn] key down/left toggles other functions as Return (¶) OR ENTER for the Return key
Mac Functions brightness, Loudness, iTunes-Control OR F-Key's (F1 - F12)
… another goodie: Hold
cmd alt ctrl EJECT
to shut down your Mac
This is just one of several irritants about the user interface for the Script Workspace. Instead of having all the operations you're likely to need for working with scripts in a nice, neat row of clickable buttons across the top of the workspace (you know, the way the Status Toolbar is organized, and the way FileMaker encourages us to use the Top Navigation part), the pertinent commands are scattered over several menus. "Duplicate Step" and "Disable/Enable" are under the "Edit" menu. "Syntax Coloring" is under "View". "New Script", "Run Script", and "Debug Script", which appear under the "Scripts" menu, also have their own clickable buttons, but "Duplicate Script" and "Delete Script", also on the "Scripts" menu, have no counterpart buttons. And the "Data Viewer" — supremely useful for use with "Debug Script" — is off in its own little world under the "Tools" menu.
There's a tremendous amount of unused horizontal space at the top of the Script Workspace where these buttons could have been placed. It's a mystery why they weren't. Clearly the underlying functionality is available, it's just a matter of how to activate it most easily.
<carp> The keyboard shortcut for "Delete Script" is shown as the symbol "⌫", which of course doesn't appear on my Macintosh keyboard, where Apple (FMI's parent company) spells out the word "delete" and, for some unknown reason, prefers to use that term instead of what the key really does, which is "backspace" (gobble up characters on the left, not the right). Windows machines, OTOH, get that distinction right but can't seem to tell the difference between "enter" and "return". You'd think that, after all these years, at least the keyboards would be standardized, but no. </carp>
For those who don't work with a US Keyboard, the shortcut is Ctrl/Cmd and the key to the left of the RIGHT Shift. On the keyboard shown by siplus, that woult be -. Thing is the shortcut is done with the physical key instead of the character itself. On US keyboard / is right beside the RIGHT Shift. Is use the French Canada keyboard, and discovered that after pulling lot of my hair . FileMaker already know, someone replied on a post I created a few month ago.
Finally somebody got it !!!
it does what you expect, but I need to use both hands to type it.
