I have a database solution using Filemaker Pro 14, which I use for dispatching technicians to do jobs in the field. I wrote a script triggered by a button which packs up the record in a particular layout as a PDF and sets it up to email via our SMTP server. In this way a technician can email a receipt in one click, and then entering the email address be done. I have better control over the 'from' email address and a couple of other things via this script. It works perfectly from our desktop versions, however, from the Filemaker Go (on ipads in the field), the script sets up the email and sends it perfectly well, except for actually attaching the pdf to the email.
Does anyone have any clues as to why this is? Where is the .pdf file saved while being set up for emailing, on the server or on the ipad? Is this a limit of Filemaker Go? Any suggestions or recommendations would be helpful.
