Summarising behaviour when going to layout

Hi all

I have a data table with around 80,000 records and several fields, many of which are summary fields.

I have frequent occurrences when scripting of FM looking to summarise 80,000 records on arrival on a layout made from this table, even if the summary fields are not included on the layout.  This takes forever, I have to kill the process and eventually FM dies.

The fact is, I do not want to summarise or sort a whole 80,000 records, just 400 of them.  My script is :

Go to layout [Data Table]

Enter find mode

Set field [Customer ID::0001]

Perform find

Sort records

However, even before it's reached the find, FM has decided it wants to process all the 80,000 records first.  Which is annoying.  And slow.

I've just tried this again and it's performed fine.

Under debug, it's immediately after it lands on the new layout (regardless of fields displayed) that it misbehaves.

Anybody else seen this?  Can it be stopped?

Thanks (frustratingly) in advance
