          Thank you for your post.

          I am unable to replicate the issue with FileMaker Pro Advanced 14.0.4 under Mac OS X 10.11.3 and Mac OS X 10.10.5.

          Does this issue occur with all files or just this one file?

          Do you have any plug-ins installed?  If so, temporarily disable/uninstall them, reboot FileMaker Pro and try again.

          Any other information you can provide may be helpful in narrowing down the possible cause.

            Hi,

            I am unable to replicate the issue with

            FileMaker Pro Advanced 14.0.4 under Mac OS X 10.11.3 and Mac OS X 10.10.5.

            I am on MacOS 10.9.5 and FMPA 14.0.4

            Does this issue occur with all files or just this one file?

            It happens on any file. Even with a new one.

            Do you have any plug-ins installed?  If so, temporarily disable/uninstall

            them, reboot FileMaker Pro and try again.

            I've uninstalled all my plugins. Same behaviour.

            Any other information you can provide may be

            helpful in narrowing down the possible cause.

            The only difference seems to be the OS. It happens either using FMPA at 32

            Bits or at 64 Bits. At 64 bits I'm able to close the Define Database window

            using the cancel buton and close the file, but the define calculation window

            stays there.

            I attach the crash report, it might help.

              Check your System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts tab.  See if you have "Command-[" defined to perform an action at the system level, as this would override any application (including FileMaker Pro).

                The crashed thread (Thread 0) is also occurring at the system level.

                Are you using any custom menus with user-defined keyboard shortcuts?

                  Hi,

                  The crashed thread (Thread 0) is also occurring at the system

                  level. Are you using any custom menus with user-defined keyboard shortcuts?

                  No.

                  Maybe you cannot reproduce the bug because your keyboard layout and mine are

                  different. I'm using a Spanish keyboard.

                  The key that is causing the bug has these symbols on it: ^ ` [

                  So, it can be:

                  cmd and ^

                  cmd and `

                  cmd and [

                  I've also been able to reproduce the bug using cmd and {

                  The ´key has these symbols on it: ¨´{

                  So it can be:

                  cmd and ¨

                  cmd and ´

                  cmd and {

                  I've tried every possible key combination with cmd and the bug only happens

                  with the two combinations I described.

                  Anyway, can you please try all the possible combinations on your keyboard?

                  Maybe you'll be able to reproduce the bug on your computer.

                    Hi,

                    I just found a Mac OS X 10.9.5 machine with FileMaker Pro

                    Advanced 14.0.4.  Again, whenever I press Command-[, I just get a beep. Check

                    your System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts tab.  See if you have

                    "Command-[" defined to perform an action at the system level, as this would

                    override any application (including FileMaker Pro).

                    There is a System level shortcut that could cause this as it is related to

                    windows. However, if I disable it nothing changes. I'll try restarting the

                    computer after disabling the shortcut.

                      I've restarted the computer after disabling the shortcut cmd `. Nothing changes.

                              I'm curious since I was facing a rare issue recently with a french Mac. Installing/switching to  english OR german language library fixed it.

                              For testing, can you reproduce this issue when you temporarily set your Mac System to english OR german language?
