There are a couple of ways to solve this. The issue is having multiple files. Go to layout only works for layouts in the current file. So it can't see layouts in the second file.
One option is to open the second file in a new window and run a script to go to layout in the new window.
Another option is to add one of more table occurrences in File 1 for the tables(s) in File 2. Then create the layout you need in File one based on these table occurrences. The result is the layout is now in File 1 and Go to layout will work.
I am trying to set a button in one layout to go to another layout. The problem I am having is that I can't see the layout when I go to perform script or when I try perform script. The Layout is not seen from anywhere. I need to connect the two layouts and I don't know how. Can you help me please? Volunteer, helping non-for profit organization and I am new at most of this.
It sounds like a permissions issue to me. Do you know if you have Full Access privileges?
If there is a relation between the files (tables in the layouts), one more option is using "Go to related record".
