In this article, Filemaker limits providers of the SSL certs one can use to these suppliers: GeoTrust, Comodo, Symantec, Thawte, GoDaddy and Entrust and further states in a note "FileMaker Go has certificates embedded within the application. Therefore, FileMaker Go can only securely connect with certificates listed above."
If I am ONLY concerned with adding a cert to my custom web publishing server (in a two-machine deployment and thus not responsible for connecting Filemaker clients,) is this limitation still applicable?
Seems to me a cert is a cert and I already have one for the host name from DigiCert. (why Filemaker would align with GoDaddy and not Digicert is a bit beyond me anyway.) Thanks in advance.
For CWP then you can install any SSL certificate because you don't add it to FMS, but just the web server.
