Is there a way to change the direction/slant of the pie chart labels?
Several of my pie slices are so close together that the text totally overwrites and is unreadable.
Don't see any setting for that particular issue.
Thanks in advance,
You could export your data to Excel. It allows better options and a generally better layout. Most people have office. I didn't look but Numbers should be just as effective in giving an improved layout.
This can be hard to find. In the Chart Setup sidebar, open the 'Chart' section. Near the bottom of that section, you'll see 'Axis Options', with a tab for the X axis and the Y axis. Choose the axis with the labels you want to adjust, and set the 'Label Angle'.
Thanks for your reply.
Although I did see (and use) the Axis Options for other chart types, these don't make sense for a pie chart:
So, it's really not the axis that's the problem since this is a pie chart (there are no axis labels). Instead, it's the labels themselves that go around the pie that get scrunched up.
I'll assume that there is no current solution to this issue in the current version of FMP (14).
the solution is to use xmchart.

Adding another $129/single or nearly another $500 (dev) for yet another plug-in just to fix a pie-chart label is not the solution I was looking for.
Since I only use FileMaker for small personal projects , if the functionality is not built in, I'll live with it.
Just wondered if I had missed something.
Everything I said in other threads about ROI holds. And yes, we are registered devs for xmchart as well.
A very good approach idea. No extra plug-ins and, as you said, everybody has Office!
