    scripted multiple records find

    rjames_tablet

      Hi All

Iam looking to create a scripted find.

Please see my attached example. When I perform a search for records that contain Period 1, the result is only one record whereby I want it to show two records. Bearing in mind that the completed database will have a maximum of  52 rows, one row per issue.

Can you help or point me to a similar discussion?

      Thank you

Your second Set Field statement is incorrect. It should read:

Set Field [test unsold:: Period 1; test unsold:: Find]

But that won't work either because that would be an AND find and you want an OR find which means adding a new record request after the first Set Field and take out the repetition that you have in there (easier to just delete the step and re-add it).

          Enter Find Mode [ ]

Set Field [test unsold:: Period ; test unsold:: Find]

          New Record Request [ ]

Set Field [test unsold:: Period 1; test unsold:: Find]

          Perform Find [ ]

Just one more question. When database is finished it will have 52 issues and periods (Period to Period 51)  so I guess Ill need to add these to the script as 'new record request' eg

            New Record Request [ ]

Set Field [test unsold:: Period 2; test unsold:: Find]

            New Record Request [ ]

Set Field [test unsold:: Period 3; test unsold:: Find]

is this the best way or is there a simpler solution?

            Thank you very much

Not sure what your data structure is and what you are trying to accomplish.  It may be easier for each Period to be a unique entry sort of like line items in an invoice. I see you have a client ID, date, period and quantity. Attached is a very quick view of how it could look using a portal but it doesn't have much functionality just the Find that you were asking about. I'll leave the functionality to you but at least it gives you an idea of what is possible. Try one of the invoice starter solution for additional inspiration.
