    Does TRIM not work with LIST function?

    fmtuner

      I have a pretty simple need to display a client's full name from separate name fields, but I'm getting stymied with the Trim Function not seeming to work with the List Function.  The text is displaying with additional spaces intact.

      My formula for the Calc Field (text result) is as follows:

      Substitute (

      List (

      Clients::Client Prefix ;

      Trim ( Clients::Client First Name ) ;

      Trim ( Clients::Client MI ) ;

      Trim ( Clients::Client Last Name )

      ) ;

      Char ( 13 ) ; Char ( 32 )

      )

      I also tried using the Let function to call the Trimmed text fields out as variables, with no results.

      Let ( [

      x = Trim ( Clients::Client First Name ) ;

      y = Trim ( Clients::Client MI ) ;

      z = Trim ( Clients::Client Last Name ) ] ;

      Substitute (

      List (

      Clients::Client Prefix ;

      x ;

      y ;

      z

      ) ;

      Char ( 13 ) ; Char ( 32 ) )

      )

      In both cases, the field contents of "Mrs.", "Anne ", "W.", and " Henderson" become "Mrs. Anne  W.  Henderson."  No leading or trailing spaces get trimmed, and this happens even without the Substitute function added.  I can't find any documentation that indicates this limitation.  Anyone else run into this, or know how to correct it?
