I want to automatically show a color circle on name tags to indicate meal preference. I have been using a circle with a field in it then sticking a color dot on top according to what the meal preference is. Has this been done?
can you post a screenshot ?
I'd like the circle to be filled in with a color based on data in the registration. Ex: if they select BEEF, I want the circle to be filled in with RED; CHICKEN; Yellow; etc. They way I do it now is to print out the name tags and stick a colored dot on the circle.
create a table "Meals" with
ID, MealName, MealPic, Meal Symbol
on the registration record show a preference field as popup, with a valuelist based upon Meal::ID and also showing values from MealName. That's the input phase.
On the "Ticket", show either MealPic or MealSymbol (containers) as related field from MealPreferences, a TO based on Meals via preference = Meals::ID
If you need a demo I can build one.
for the easiest use of conditional formatting, I like to use a single space character on the layout, resize to appropriate height and width (add corners to simulate circle). Then you can put in the conditional formula to change the background color:
registration::meal = "Beef" // set to red
registration::meal = "Chicken" // set to yellow
here a possible implementation.
Example using single text space with conditional formatting
