Does the web site work in iframe?
Which os do you use?
I think there is no trigger, but you can detect it seeing LayoutObjectAttribute ( "nameofwv" ; "source" ) if it changes URL after submit.
Mac? Win? WebDirect? iOS?
It's on Mac and Windows (has to be compatible with v12-14). I'm already using LayoutObjectAttribute to get the source of the html content, just hoping to automate it if possible.
Is it possible to incorporate it into the Submit button? Scrape the web content and look for the correct value, then return a result based on what you find?
Since you said that you have no control over the contents of the web site that you load up in the Webviewer, I can't think of any triggers. The only thing I can think of is to invoke an OnTimer script when you load up the Webviewer window.
Have the OnTimer fire every X seconds and check the source content like you do now. What if the user opens the Webviewer, but then goes to lunch. You would not want the OnTimer firing every few seconds in this scenario. I would build in an Exit condition to my OnTimer script that says to close the window (and thus kill the OnTimer script) after a set period of time.
Having said this, I would definitely do some testing to get feedback from the staff. If you set the OnTimer to something like every 10 seconds, the staff might feel like that is too long. If you set it to every 5 seconds, it might be too quick and cause unexpected results. In the end, everyone might vote to stick with what you have now.
If you use Insert From URL, wouldn't the timer be unnecessary? It doesn't return the result until it gets it all, IIRC.
Not sure where Insert from URL comes into play? Steve (OP) described loading a web page that staff had to log into and then once they do this, scrape the HTML looking for some text. He also said that he had no control over the web page with the login prompt. Because of this, I could not think of anything off hand besides the OnTimerScript idea, or I am missing something?
