I have set up the users under Manage>Security but and have scripted the Startup to lock Status Toolbar but the problem is the Scripts menu still appears. This allows the user to run scripts which I don't want. How do I hide this?
You can remove scripts that are visible in the Scripts menu by going into the Script Workspace and unchecking the checkbox on the left of every script.
To hide the Scripts from the toolbar you need to create a Custom Menu (Tools/Custom Menus). This requires FileMaker Pro Advanced.
Another thought - the default [Data Entry Only] privilege set while it doesn't 'hide' the Scripts menu it does grey it out so a user with that privilege can see it but can't access it. If you require a different privilege set you can look at how that is set up and create one more to your needs if less or more than data entry is required. I should note that I am using 14A and behaviour in 14 might be slightly different. This may negate the need for a custom menu.
Perfect. Thank you very much.
