If its not possible to do so how else can I minimise the potential vulnerability FM 14 Server and of port 80?
please explain the vulnerability you perceive.
Thanks for responding.
I recently ran a Vulenrability /Penetration test on our Filemaker environment which identified ports 80 , 443 and 22 open and potentially vulnerable. As we are holding sensitive data and our customers need assurance that don’t have any security “holes” and therefore block/disable unwarranted access from the outside world. At the moment we are not using Web Publishing and hence was wondering if it is possible to disable Port 80?
If it’s not possible to do that I am looking for advice on how best to secure our system.
I hope that provides some idea of what we are trying to achieve.
Use a firewall to block ports. I would suggest firewall and antivirus software. Remove your database from the scan. The only way to be 100% save is to not connect the server to the internet.
FileMaker on Mac uses an Apache web server.
You can find the config file for that one and disable the serving of port 80 there.
80 or 443 or both used for interactive container field and file upload, not only for web sharing.
