I want to force users to press a button before they can edit field data in Browse mode. My problem is that it's too easy for users to make accidental changes to data and commit it before they realize what they've done. I want to force users to press a button before they can edit field data in Browse mode. The idea would be functionally equivalent to entering Find Mode, press a button that launches a script that switches the Browse attribute On for all the fields on the layout, then on the Commit a script would turn the Browse attribute back Off for those same fields. I am finding that sometimes, especially when Value Lists on on the layout, users forget to enter Find Mode first, and before they know it they've changed the record and committed it...and there's no way to revert at this point. Often they don't recall what the field said before, so they can't easily recreate it either. Any ideas on how to do this or another work around would be much appreciated.
