Can't import template files (such as Product Catalog.fp7) in FileMaker 11 Pro. Does Pro 11 even work in Mac OS10.10.5?
what kind of errors are you getting?
FileMaker 12 and earlier versions, OS X Yosemite compatibility | FileMaker
It's not supported.
What exactly is not working? What do you mean by "template"?
Two types. Double clicking the template produces "TEMPLATE NAME.fp7" could not be imported. Error:." Then trying to open the same template from within Filemaker produces "This file is locked or in use". Think I got the solution from another post though. Read on.
Inside the Filemaker app folder there is English Extras->Templates-> which has various business and general templates which you are supposed to be able to use as starters for a file (templates like Contact Management, Inventory, etc. Trying to double click or open from inside Filemaker 11 both produce errors. I think you answered everything by telling me that Filemaker 12 and earlier versions are not supported in OS X Yosemite. Guess I'll have to spring for the $329.
You're supposed to use the "New from starter solution" from inside the "file" menu to use those, NOT access the files directly from where they reside.
Yup, did that too. Got a "This file is locked or in use" error. I think the problem is Filemaker 11 is not supported in OS X Yosemite.
if the files are/were stored on a cd/dvd at some point, the file may be locked. But my bet would be for version/OS incompatibility.
