    Protecting individual records


      I'm wanting to produce some example Parent-child records that users can refer to. Unlike 'User' records, I want these examples protected from deletion and/ or change. What system should I use to protect individual Parent records and their child records?

          If you want to do this per-login rights, go to the manage security screen, go to the privilege sets, create or edit a set, under the record access, choose "custom", for the tables that you want to protect under the delete option, instead of "yes" or "no" pick "limited" and then you can set up a condition statement. Maybe you want to limit them to their own department or whether or not a bill has be posted etc. You may want to set up a calculated field on your table and use that so you can easily make changes going forward.
